broccoli, banana splits, and choo choo night!

Photobucket

we love broccoli around here! us grown ups eat the entire tree but the sweet girls only eat the leaves... as we have after dinner clean up, we always giggle at Isabelle's plate... a bunch of broccoli stems left over...

Photobucket

ice cream anticipation... waiting so patiently for me to scoop for she was in charge of piling on the goodies... sliced bananas and lots of strawberries, chocolate, and whip cream! perfect way to spend a Saturday with the Grandparents!

each night of the week after we have baths and are cozy in our jammies we try to do something fun ... sometimes it's puzzles, other nights we have music instruments, painting, but we always looooove train night! it's just for a little bit and a tiny bit before story time begins. We love it and so do the girls! a nice time to spend time with each other and wind down after a busy day perhaps. I usually find myself sitting back and watching my little pumpkins... usually noticing how long Isabelle's legs are getting, admiring Cecilia's dark blue eyes... it's a nice way to actually truly enjoy them with all our hearts.....

this morning at breakfast time I noticed our oldest girl lining the edge of her plate so carefully with strawberries... then she ate them one by one... then she had a few left over and she made little houses (she told me) I asked who they were for... she said, "they're for the fairies..." love their little imaginations

hammer hammer hammer...

Photobucket

we are so excited around here... the sounds of hammers is in full swing! Our big deck is being made! hooray! Pappa and Umpa worked very hard yesterday... while us girls were in charge of drinks and snacks... not bad. A lot of digging and hammering and lots dirt by the back door... but the dirt will totally be all the grit...

Photobucket

we love to hang out in our backyard... I love to remember all of the memories we have already made and look forward to many more to come...

Photobucket

even just a ride in the wheel burrow is a fun day...

Photobucket

so here we are just now... maybe the next pics I post of our garden will be of a deck-warming dinner! I can hardly wait... hmmm how will I decorate... I think this place may have some ideas for me.... it always is a good choice...

Photobucket

how a little flower can make my day... I was so happy to see these lovely hyacinths calling my name in the market... their fragrant is intoxicating! it's perfect. They welcome us with their scent every time we return home... it's beautiful. Thank you pretty hyacinths for making us smile...

off to the market for some fish ... craving some salmon maybe??... mmmmm!

another day....

Just another day in paradise.....

Photobucket

we had one of those days yesterday... the kind you sorta wish will never end.....
Pappa and I work from home most of the week which is just perfect... we hardly miss a thing and spend time together and time with our children... we love it and realize just how lucky we truly are... we don't take it for granted and we soak it all up to the rim...

This day for sure was one of those perfect days... The sun finally came out and warmed us all up to the core. We had our lunch outside which was quite light... just some smoothies and we shared some avocados ... but it was enough. Isabelle was in preschool which gave us some time to just be with our littlest... sometimes that is nice... of course near the end we cannot help but miss our eldest...
so there we were sitting on our bistro table in the sunlight...

Photobucket

we listened to the tiniest little finches tweeting about and noticed how so many of our flowers survived the frost... We said hello to neighbors out peddling by on their bikes... and hello to those walking their dogs... and of course a friendly hello to the mailman...

we held our heads to the sun and warmed our faces and closed our eyes and couldn't help but exhale with an ahhhhh.........

Photobucket

then we were off to finishing up some edits and calling some clients... we felt rested and well and very very lucky.....

pizza, mango, and a sink bath...

Photobucket

homemade pizza really really is the best... if only we had a brick oven to cook in... hmmm... spring project maybe? This pizza really hit the spot! Pappa made it so yummy all coated with pesto and sizzling portabella mushrooms! my fave! we ravished it entirely and wiped our chins had a gulp of red wine and moved on to a super ripe mango! Our girls love mangoes so much! our favorites are when we can pick them fresh from Uma and Umpa's tree but that will have to wait until next year... until then our little market will have to do...

Photobucket

Photobucket

it's always nice to top a nice day off with a little sink bath...
I think it's so cute how baby Cecilia has such wonder watching the water trickle out of the facet... I mean really, wouldn't you..

all in a day.....

so many fun things happened yesterday.....

we have been waiting and waiting for our Christmas packages to arrive from Sweden... and at last we got a special delivery... It's always a fun time when we get packages or a special letter in the mail. I am still one that believes in all of the technology it is still so nice to get a hand written letter... it's getting to be a lost art form... some say... I say keep teaching our children to slow down a bit and buy them special stationery and a fountain pen... it's a beautiful thing... even at 3.

so I remember back through the years of dating and first being married... when our package would come from my husband's family for the holidays. There is always a calendar, a newspaper, some sort of literature to read, chocolates, presents, and Swedish coffee... mmmmm! Now I find our children looking forward to special things as well from far far away. Ohhh when that big ol' box is placed on the table... our little one runs for the opener and proudly excitedly hands it to Pappa... can we open it nowwww!

Photobucket

Then we place the packages about the house... everyone gets their own pile... then we usually brew some coffee and have the chocolates near.... then it's open time!!!

Photobucket

We also went to Selby Botanical Gardens for a bit. It was Little Sprouts day. Such fun... a nice little event the Gardens has once a month for the preschoolers. Isabelle has always loved it... all of the crafts dealing with nature and being amongst other little crafty nature sprouts... and now oh myyy, I am loving how our youngest is getting around with the other little sprouts. Tumbling and finding little bits to grasp so tightly between her thumb and index finger... I love how they so cleaverly find something and hold on to it so tightly, so proud...

Photobucket

it's not over until.....

about once or twice a week we have music night! it's so much fun and our girls look forward to it all day! once it's said that tonight we're going to have music night.... then it's all a giddy for the afternoon! As we prepare and cook our food... we get,,, now, how about now... when can we have music night!??

Photobucket

Once we have had our dinner and cleaned up everyone helping the girls gather our tidy cared for instruments from their room and line them up so particularly for everyone to choose from. Pappa and I usually get our instruments chosen for us... hee, hee. Then we choose some sort of music to play on the iPod.... tonight it was African Tribal and away we go...

Photobucket

the main goal here is to let you heart be light and feel the music! We always make sure to choose something where there is a good beat for us to clank away to and a lot of the times we just have Pappa strum his guitar for hours... while us girls play backup!

Photobucket

Cecilia seems to be quite intrigued by the xylophone ... she has now for quite some time. Always choosing that instrument and sitting so quietly and concentrating ... we think she's quite good!

so this is how we spend some of our evenings... I often wonder while we're jingling and clicking and singing and dancing about what the many neighbors are thinking as they take their dogs for a stroll past our home and have a peek in our windows... I hope they're thinking ... hmm... I would love to join them... maybe we can have an open mic night??...

a cold day...

oooooh there is such a nip in the air.... that fresh so clean breath that you get when you step out the door maybe in a land far from Florida.... it's so refreshing and gets a little kick in my step.

We decided to head to Busch Gardens this weekend.... something we promised our girls... even though we promised them when it was warm out and the plan seemed just dreamy... well... to our surprise the weekend had a little unexpected plan for our chilly buns! We stuck with our promise as we always do and bundled up and packed some hats and gloves and off away we went to Tampa!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

something about giraffes that really make me smile... I love their spots and I especially love their little wiggly ears... I love how long their necks are and how clumsie they seem to cleverly be...

Photobucket

the rino and the baby rino really stood out... to me and Mattias both! We can't believe just how similar the mamma and baby are... so husky and strong the baby seems to be... it's adorable!
We really loved the safari ride... even though the winds got us cuddling so tight we could barely see the animals... but we peeked our eyes out to catch some glimpses and little Isabelle found herself buried inside of my wind jacket... sweet to have her so close every once in awhile even if she is always on the gooooooooo.....

can't wait to go back when the breezes are a little bit warmer.....

good-bye tree.....

Photobucket

how we love our tree really is beautiful... our little girl actually wept as Pappa hauled it out on Saturday...
explaining to a 3 year old reasons for things really is fun.... I try to stay away from this is why, and that's it... instead I try to be a little creative... sometime the truth hurts but it is how it is.... and the truth is, is that everything has it's cycle and season.... some things don't last forever... Christmas is one of those things that cannot last forever... if it did, we wouldn't look forward to it

Photobucket

the little pine needles that we swept away felt like scraps of our holiday memories being swept away.... it was a lovely lovely Christmas and like everything the winds blow in and take us to a new exciting part of life.... winter...

Photobucket

winter is here and even in our tropical land that we know of as Florida... it still gets quite chilly down here. Such fresh arctic winds found us snuggly and close indoors... I really do love this. I love how we stay inside and keep close in our blankets and scarfs. Even though we have not had snow we still have had frost and ice and in our little tropical hearts we cannot help but wish for a little bit of that powdery pretty snow

Photobucket

playing and hiding under pillows and giggles have been filling our cozy warm home lately

Photobucket

and of course there is always a little pirate that lurks around

Photobucket

and best of all has been through this chill in our bones and frost on our noses ...... one of our orange trees decided it was time to surprise us with the most sweetest delicious oranges of the season!!! We squeezed and squeezed and Isabelle and Cecilia even got to have a try and we made a bunch of orange juice to sweeten our weekend a little bit more..... thank you trees.....

I wonder what tomorrow will bring??.....
