paper mache fun!

Photobucket

one of the mammas in our little circle has had this plan for a paper mache fun get together... well.. we finally did it! and what fun it was!

Photobucket

I love how the kids don't see much of a difference in ages... they have all grown together... they have older and younger siblings... they just see each other as they are and are totally happy playing together... as little friends! This is our youngest playing with Tyler who is twice her age... they both don't seem to notice... and we don't tell them any difference. :-) they are collecting newspaper strips to help with the project ahead.....

Photobucket

there were lots of sounds of eeeeeeeooooo.... yyyyyyucky....... eeek... yyyllluuuck! it was quite fun to squish all of our fingers together in the goopyness

and there you have it... masterpiece!

Photobucket

so yes... my girls get quite dirty... it's how it is... I wouldn't want it any other way.....

Photobucket

I reeeeally loved this moment... us Mammas were sitting having coffee and chatting and I happened to look over and see just this... it totally completely reminded me of when I was a little girl... playing with the hose in my underpants with all the kids in the neighborhood... happiness... that's all I really needed and I am glad to see it's the same with our daughters... just a hose and a puddle of mud... easy!

Halloween!!

weeeehhhewww I am so behind on blogging... so many things keep happening and piling on top of the days... I can't complain though... life keeps happening and so it is....

Photobucket

Halloween was a bit ago and fades into a fun memory... in so many ways... holidays always have me reflecting back to my childhood and that to me is cozy! but Halloween was quite fun as a kid and I cannot help myself reliving those moments again and again and getting so giddy on dress up holidays... ohhh I just love having kids!

we took our girls to our "Children's Garden" in town for their Spooktacular Event! it's quite something a such a beautiful garden for the children in our town to explore and be at one with nature and all things beautiful... being here totally gets their imaginations spinning and to witness just that to me ... is pure bliss!

Photobucket

so little red riding hood and cinderella had quite the fun day... they have so much fun together... I just love how our oldest helps her little sister out... takes her hand to guide her... I love when our youngest does something so sweet and our oldest sighs and looks for me and says awe... she just needs me to know that something sweet happens and it was recognized... lovely!

the pirates at work...

and then we bumped into some friends visiting the garden and our girls ran about with them some as well...

Photobucket

after our dinner we lit our pumpkins and lanterns and got dressed up and put little cozies in our wagon and set out to the neighborhood... I couldn't help myself but to get that heavy heart as I watched our girls trick-or-treat.... weep weep... I stood at the end of driveways with Pappa and I said to him... "remember when we took Isabelle around in in her stroller to some of our neighbors... then we held her hand... then baby Cecilia in the stroller.. then helping her walk up with her big sister... and now they both walked up to some of the houses together holding hands... getting treats... saying Thank Yous... and running back to Pappa and I so excited... wow... how they grow... so quickly... so beautifully... it's amazing this life!

Photobucket

and then finally we came home and lit a campfire to unwind a bit... Uma and Umpa stopped by so say Happy Halloween and enjoyed the fire a bit as well... it was a beautiful Halloween for sure!!!

love our town!

Photobucket

this little town I live in... this little town I grew up in... well... it's not so little but still IS a small town and I love it dearly! I love all of the art support that is constantly going on... our town has so much culture and heart which to me... is fantastic! our studio is in Historical Burns Square and every year has a chalk festival! wow... such an artform! we took the family to marvel at the beautiful pieces and oooo and ahhh...

Photobucket

it just means so much to me as an artist... for communities to support art... let the children... let the people of the community be CREATIVE... it's beautiful! when people are able to be creative... it just opens their minds up to so much possibilities! so much is at their fingertips... it's a great feeling to create! it's also a great feeling to see so many fellow neighbors looking and awing at art!

Photobucket

Photobucket

are little one giving it a go at chalk... usually our driveway is covered in chalk... almost every evening we love to sit on our driveway and say hello to our neighbors... have a beer... watch the dogs get walked by... the girls color all over the driveway and up and down our sidewalk... I think this was quite cool for them to see that what that do... is substantial... it's art... it's real.

Photobucket

fun to bump into our friends..

Photobucket

all the little children covered each of these squares with beautiful creations... I was so impressed!

Photobucket

a little cupcake break of course... :-)

sweet lovely jasmine... how I love you!

Photobucket

this is seriously my absolute favorite smell in the world... I cannot photograph scents and that is so frustrating... because I want to share this scent with all of you... I want to bottle it up and make a perfume... make a bath oil... I just want to smell this scent every day forever... but then would it be so special... I think not. so to that... I long for the two times per year my sweet jasmine flowers bloom in our garden it's such a happy day... the blooms ONLY last at the most 1 week... in that week... you may find me sitting under their blooms taking in every last smell... taking it in completely... my girls have me lift them to the blossoms... we each hmmm and smile and almost eat the blossoms up they are JUST THAT SWEET!!! not even kidding! :-) we pluck blooms every night after baths as we're turning in... we place them by our bedside tables and smell their scents all night long.... poor Pappa actually thinks the blossoms are even toooo sweet and although likes the smell but prefers the blossoms at his girl's bedside tables instead of his... had to share a little pic of my sweet lovelies that I adore so so much.... mmmmmmm night night!

costumes!!!

oh wow, what fun Halloween has been this year!!! My mother made these ADORABLE costumes for the girls! she's so talented and the girls just love all of her treats she makes them... here is her website too...

Photobucket

I tried so much to turn our little Isabelle from being a princess... I didn't want her to think that just because she's a girl she has to be all about pretty things... she can be anything I am constantly telling her... so when she sprung on the Princess... I was shocked! maybe a little bit sad... I kept waiting and waiting to see if she may bite at any of my other suggestions... but no... I want to be a Princess Mamma! since she was a little tike I have been reading her one of my favorite books... Cinderella! The book is so tattered and lovely and she loves it so much... so of course Cinderella was her ideal princess! the final day when I decided to throw in the towel... she looked at me very sadly and said, "ok, Mamma... I can be a witch if you really want me to be one." oh my she knows how to get to me... then I said... NOPE you will be Princess Isabelle!!!!! It's going to be a ROYAL costume! "can I wear a tiara Mamma?" OF COURSE... with sparkly jewelry.. sparkly shoes... what EVER you want to BE you can be!!! we did just that! Our youngest however was happy to be anything we suggested... I knew to take advantage of just that in case next year she insists on being a princess as well... and yes, she was Little Red Riding Hood... so sweet! She was so happy to be just that... walking so carefully with her little hood! oh it was just precious!
