it's here...
SUMMER!!!

I don't know if I have ever longed for summer so much as I did this year!
The feeling of carefree is a beautiful thing!
When I took these sprinkler pics I think my heart may have smiled as much as our girl's faces were...
This is life... we're letting it shine!

We're being free... no plans... that kind of family this year!
if we're still in the garden or at the playground and it's 7 at night and not a plan or care for dinner... that's how we're rolling!

our tubs will have that grit of sand and drippy bathing suits drying... yes, check!

freezer full of ice cream and popsicles! uh huh!

We love it!!!
Happy Summer!

Kindergarten Graduation...

Photobucket

She did it... our little girl graduated from kindergarten...
my heart did hurt... yes... but it was really proud!
maybe it skipped a few beats and had to beat hard to catch up...
There she was... the girl that lived inside of me... on a stage in front of many... getting a diploma...
one of many big days...

Photobucket

we watched proud as the classes sang songs about being classmates... coloring... making friends...

Photobucket

and we hugged hard as our hearts were pouring with pride!

it never really stops does it...
the gulp in your throat...
it's always there...
the swelling of tears as you blink and you have a 6 year old.
that's there forever right...?

it's these fast forward days that make me slow down... slllllowly.....
at night I still watch our girls sleeping when I check on them once more...
if I look really closely at only their faces they still look like they did... but then when I back up and look at their limps and bodies it hits me every time...
how are their toes almost touching the edge of the bed... how are their heads filling their pillows so much...
why does that lovie look so small...

Kindergarten was a tough one for me... I loved every day... but I thought going through the year I would stop the sulking feeling that I had the first day... the long walk home...
it was there every day...

maybe there is no solution to being a parent and letting your children grow...
we have to celebrate every day... every milestone... ever little thing ... celebrate as hard as we can!
Living Fiercely... Hang on tight the ride is fast but damn it's fun!

Photobucket

a little celebration is always in order!

Photobucket

and then our littlest had her last day of preschool... not to worry she has many more years of preschool... I know her first day of kindergarten will be sneaking in... I will be ready for it... no doubt she surely will...

Boston!!!

Photobucket

This is Boston!
What an adventure we had!
I was so excited to be asked to photograph a BEAUTIFUL wedding in this amazing place! The couple was the sweetest ever so I just was over the moon!

It is SO VERY important to us to show our girls this world! whenever there is opportunity we go! we let the wind take us!

Photobucket

now one of our girl's new favorite play times... street band play! ha! They get a few buckets turn them upside down... drum sticks are usually twigs... and then MOST important.......
a hat! (for change of course!)
hilarious!

I think it's great to let the kids explore a bit... sit back on a bench and let them feel out the city... climb... splash... laugh!

finding our way across to the USS Constitution! what an adventure! Now that Isabelle is older... a big 6 year old for crying out loud! we make her read maps! we let her tell us where to go! she figures out the airports... looks for the terminals... subways... working on time now... it's so great for kids to not depend on us so much... and hey it's a great letter and number work right?... :-)
little sister tags right along... insisting on reading the map too... upside down of course! :-)

Photobucket

what a beautiful vacation this was in so many ways...
the city was such a treat!
exploring around trying new things as a family is always my favorite!
These are the special memories that I know they will tote in their hearts forever... and we will too of course.

the Bunny came!!!

Photobucket

I love Easter! I love the simplicity of it! I love the pastels the eggs and gosh I LOVE that bunny!
I love how there is not much pressure with Easter... no need to remember this and that and this gift and that gift... just a simple Egg Hunt... some pretty dresses... a basket... some carrots! and then you can sit back have a mimosa and watch your kids make some big memories!

Photobucket

I love how they work so hard on coloring their eggs! tongues curled... toes strained... concentration!

The Easter Bunny hides the baskets in silly places... he did the same to my brother and me growing up... the stove, the tub, and this year the shower... don't look at the grout guys!

Photobucket

sweet little bunny treats!

and then the hunt begins!

I love how damn sweet our oldest is with her little sister! It seriously melts my heart to hot chocolate...
She always looks out for her... at this moment Isabelle realized that Cecilia wasn't finding as many eggs so she hurried over and gave her one... and then...

plop... snuck another one...

Photobucket

really truly sweetness!
happens at birthdays when there's a pinata... she always runs over to make sure Cecilia got enough... if not... she grabs some in her bag and shares... I love this!
