lazy summer days...

It's been wonderful and relaxing settling in to vacation mode... in a whole other land.. slowing down has been perfect for us... just a few shoots here and there to edit... fixing our dinners... trying to decide on beer or wine to have with dinner is usually our biggest dilemma... figuring out our days.. should we go to the city... the farm... go for a hike... the playground... it's a really simple life.

our girls spend the day peeling off little slugs from branches... plucking berries from the strawberry and raspberry bushes and of course trying to catch Mimi the cat...

I mean this garden... cannot believe it! real peonies blooming like fireworks... and a flamingo! what!

well these little guys keep the girls busy... trying to keep them corralled and feeding them grass... so cute!

ahhhh there's my little niece and my beautiful sister-in-law... I just love her to pieces!

ah perfect a little dandelion leaf wrapped around the snail... makes a perfect "sleeping bag..."

Mattias having fun fixing things here and there in this old beautiful home... I love how the floors creek and the doors squeak... so many little hidden places for the girls to play...

We made it to Sweden!!!

We have arrived to beautiful Sweden... after coming for years it feels like home... settling in feels good. Knowing what to expect feels even better...
Always before leaving Florida my heart starts to pound... the to-do lists start to pile... getting set for a 6 week vacation is quite a task... along with getting packed for such a long trip comes getting your home set and your business and saying goodbye to those you love... which for me is the hardest part. Going to Sweden you have to pack for unexpected weather... for instance two days ago it was bikini weather and yesterday there was hail... you never know... but clothes and shoes in Sweden are nearly triple so you want to be prepared to not have to make a trek to Lindex for a rain jacket...
Once we board our flight over the pond it almost feels like there are built in massage hands in our chairs... my shoulders start to lower... I start to remember how to breath... and I start to settle in to that awesome vacation mindset that I always try to hang on to... of course I have to remind myself again and again to breath... take it in... relax... but that's part of being a parent I'm pretty sure.
My family in Sweden has a new home which we are staying in... it's in the countryside which I have never lived in before over here... usually we are in the village but now we are in an intoxicating rose garden, cherry tree, giant song bird, old amazing home... paradise... and I am so happy to be here!
The girls explore the garden which winds in and out every which way to little berry patches and little seats to rest on. The wind chimes clang and the slugs get stepped on...
The sky today is such a color of blue and I cannot wait to drink my 3rd cup of coffee in my rose garden oasis just outside our bedroom door... the bees are buzzing and humming... more later...

Preschool Graduation... *sigh*

ohhhh man... where to begin... where to start... It's hard to just write about a school... a place that touched your life... your children's lives...
Last week we had to say farewell to a family... a place we called home for both of our girl's first school... I think it's so hard to let go of this magical place because that's exactly what it is.... it's exactly what childhood should be... what school should be... it's a place where children are respected and treated with love and treated like they are something... and not a bother...
This school is on the New College Campus so there are a lot of college students that volunteer and work for the school...
I have watched college students be so inspiring to these children... young adults treat these children like their own... Hugging is aloud... teachers tossing kids in the air... teachers running until they are out of breath... so much happy energy surrounds every ounce of this school...

yep... I pretty much had to hold my breath here...

right about here I cried like a little baby... and hid behind my camera... the love these teachers have for these children breaks my heart in half... but the amazing beginning they have will stay with them forever...

Easter Fun!

I love Easter! I love it so much! This Easter as all Easters may have been the best one yet...
I love every holiday... love the chance to make some memories that come with so many traditions... traditions of when we were small children as well...
Easter is nice for me because it is simple... not a lot of shopping... just a lot of sweetness and being together...

we have been dying our eggs outside for a few years now... it's so nice because all of the spring birds and butterflies like to sing and fly around as we color eggs...

carrots and letters for the bunny... even a little radishes this year... oh I just love it!

I truly love our backyard... just sitting relaxing while the girls explore or look for eggs is just magical... our garden has a nice canopy of green leaves that make us feel we are in a secret garden... we keep things very eclectic and whimsical would be the way I describe the decor... It's just little things we find here and there and every little piece of it has a story... it's truly our own oasis...
